On the 6th of February 2006,  an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama was scheduled at 0930 hrs at Radisson Hotel, Delhi. Attendants were all 11Governing Body Members and 2 Office Executives from Delhi. ( click for more)
 
A Governing Body meeting took place at the T.C.C Office attended by all the Board members and the Honorable Secretary of Finance Department, Mr. Sonam Topgyal la.Following are the extracts from the Minutes of the Governing Body Meetings held on 5th and 6th Feb 2006:
 
 
1. All the 11 Governing Body members gathered at Namgyal Kyisel Guest House, C-223 Defense ---Colony, New Delhi at 1130 hrs, 5th Feb 2006.

3. Governing Body Members will be visiting and organizing events at Nepal, Bangalore and Delhi to ---create awareness about the Chamber and for the better relationship among Tibetan Business Community.
 
Schedule for the same has been agreed on as following:
 
16-17th March 2006 at Nepal
 
13th May 2006 at Delhi followed by Bangalore on 16th May 2006
 
4. Governing Body Member has decided that a mega event like Tibet Fair is to be organized at Delhi on ---11th -12th Nov 2006.
 
5. Governing Body Member has agreed to send requests following Tibetan Business personalities to be --the part of Advisory Board of Tibetan Chamber of Commerce

Feb 06, 2006:
 
* Governing Body Members gathered at the TCC Office at around 1030 hrs along with the Honorable --Secretary of Finance Dept. of Tibetan Govt. In Exile.
 
* Governing Body has formally appointed Committees responsible for the events and meetings to be --organized while the delegation visits at Nepal, Delhi, Bangalore and Delhi.
 
*** Committee at Delhi comprise of:
-----Tsering Dorjee la, Sonam Phuntsok la and Sonam Topgyal la
*** Committee at Katmandu, Nepal comprise of:
-----Lobsang Lama la and Phuntsok Tsering la
Committee at Bangalore is to be headed by Jigmey Tenzin la with other members present there.
Dawa Rinchen la has been requested to be the in charge of the events and meetings at Dharamsala.
 
* Indian Business personalities are to be requested to be the Honorary Members of the Society. Jayang la and Sonam Topgyal la have agreed to introduce personalities to the Office Executives.
 
* Discussion on Associate Membership was tabled by Dawa Rinchen la. Governing Body has agreed to --have a discussion on this topic during the Annual General Meeting.
 
Feb 8, 2006:
 
Governing Body members went to see former President of the erstwhile Samatha Party, Jaya Jaitley on 8th February 2006 at George Fernandes’s Residence. Jaya Jaitley was appreciative of the fact that Tibetan Businessmen have come together and have formed Tibetan Chamber of Commerce. The points discussed with her were the possibilities of an even like Tibet Festival in the month of November at Delhi. Jaya Jaitley promised all possible help on this ground.
 
The same evening on 8th Feb 2006 Governing Body went to see a prominent media personality and Director of Foundation of Universal Responsibility of His Holiness the Dalai Lama,  Mr. Rajiv Mehrotra.  Mr. Rajiv was briefed about the Chamber and its vision by the Chairman. Mr. Rajiv Mehrotra in turn advised organizing of events like Seminars, workshops, Chairman. Mr. Rajiv Mehrotra in turn advised organizing of events like Seminars, workshops, awareness program.
 
March 2006
 
March 11 2006:
 
Tibetan Chamber of Commerce organized the first conference of Tibetan Businessmen at Katmandu, Nepal. More than a hundred invitation cards were sent by the Honorable Governing Body Members at Nepal to all the business houses in and around Katmandu.(click for more details)
 
March 12, 2006:
 
On the 12th of March, a lunch meeting (GBM) was held at Hotel Tibet, Nepal where along with many crucial decisions was also decided not to held a Tiber Fair this coming November, instead T.C.C will work as facilitator. T.C.C will facilitate participations of interested members in major national and international Fairs.
 
March 25, 2006:
 
Governing Body members of Delhi held a Dinner meeting at ICHIBAN Restaurant, New Delhi to appoint Mr. Kunsang Tanzin la as one of the Honorable Advisory Board Member. Requirements of the 13th May meeting to be held at Delhi were also discussed where M.T Tibetan Day school was chosen as the venue for the meeting. A meeting will soon be held to discuss the budget requirement and other related requirements. Minutes of the same was forwarded to all the members soon after the meeting.
 
April 2006
 
April 7, 2006:
 
A Governing Member, Delhi had a meeting at the TCC office. Decision at the meeting was taken to change the venue of the 16th May meeting from Bangalore to Bylakupee. Also it was decided that Honorable Secretary of Finance Dept. should be invited as the Chief Guest for the 16th May Bylakupee meeting along with the other settlement officers
 
April 12, 2006:
 
After telephonic conversation with Mr. Ngawang, USA a letter was sent to Mr. Ngodup Tsering, USA requesting him to be the part of Honorable Advisory Board of Tibetan Chamber of Commerce. (The decision to appoint Mr. Ngodup Tsering to the Advisory Board was taken at the 3rd Governing Body Meeting on 5th February 2006. The office received a formal acceptance letter from him on 3rd May). Mr. Mingmar Tsering Sherpa, a businessman from Nepal was nominated by Mr. Jigmey Tenzin for the Honorable Advisory Board Membership. Governing Members at the meeting unanimously agreed and decided to appoint Mr. M T Sherpa as Honorable Advisor for the Chamber
 
April 26, 2006:
 
TCC office executives met Joint secretary of Paljor Dept. Mr. Sonam Dorjee at Bureau of His Holiness, Delhi and discussed about the importance of the existences of TCC. Possible future activities of the TCC were also looked upon and discussed. Both sides shared views on the importance, possibilities and limitations of registering the Tibetan businesses in India in accordance with the Indian Law. Mr. Sonam Dorjee promised all possible help if TCC takes up any issues on registration of Tibetan Businesses.
 
April 27, 2006:
 
The Tibetan shops at Pritampur and Azadpur were distributed the invitation cards for the 13th May, Delhi meeting. Office executives had a talk with those shop owners and tried to know their current situation and their expectation from such organizations at present and in future.

The Tibetan shops at Paschim Vihar were distributed the invitation for the 13 May, Delhi meeting. Executives had talks with the Tibetan Shop owners and tried to know their problems and their expectations from such organizations.
 
April 29, 2006:
 
Governing Body Members, Delhi had a meeting called on a short notice to discuss the possibility and the effectiveness of the 16th May meeting to be held at Bylakupee. Ultimately, it was unanimously decided to go forward with the Bylakupee meeting looking at the future benefits to the Chamber.

May 6, 2006:
 
A meeting was held at our Chairman Mr. Dorjee W. Dewatshang's office at 4:00 pm among he TCC members in Delhi to discuss the programe details of the Business Conference scheduled on May 13, at Majnu-ka-Tilla, Delhi.
 
May 13, 2006:
 
The Business Conference was held at the Tibetan Day School Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi. The meeting started at 10:30 am

May 16, 2006:
 
Third Business Conference was organized at the Dekyi Larsoe Community hal (Bylakuppe) on the May 16, 2006. More than 150 businessmen irrespective of small and big attended the conference.
 
The main speakers at the Conference were: 
 
1. Mr. Tempa Tsering, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Delhi
2. Mr. Sonam Topgyal, Finance Secretary, CTA
3. Mr. Dorjee W. Dewatshang, 14th ATPD Member and Chairman, TCC.
4. Mr. Tseten Norbu, 14th ATPD Member and Vice Chairman, TCC.
5. Mr. Sonam Topgyal, Governing Member, TCC
6. Mr. Lhakpa Tsering, Executive Director, TCC
 
More than 50 Tibetan businessmen came and attended the conference and supported the movement. The conference was held mainly to promote the aims and objective of the Chamber and to encourage the Tibetan business houses to become member of the chamber.  After the conference. All 11 governing body members gathered at Wongdhen House around 1300 hrs. In the meeting it was decided to form a committee which will be headed by Mr. Sonam Topgyal and Dawa Rinchen. The committee will study the possibility of registering a business as Tibetan and the procedure for the same. Also a committee headed by Mr. Dorjee W. Dewatshang was formed which will do the required enquiries about the dates and procedure of participating in International Trade Fairs.
 
May 16, 2006:

The motive of the conference was to spread the awareness about the Chamber, its aims and objective and to encourage the businessmen to join as members of the Chamber

A meeting was held with Mr. Noni Chalwa, where he was requested to be a member of our advisory board. He was also requested to write articles for the Business magazine which he happily agreed

Decision to postpone the release date of chamber’s magazine to Nov 2006 was taken.
 
A committee on the same (Chamber’s Magazine) was decided upon to be headed by Mr. Jigmey Tenzin la. Committee is to have Mr. Dorjee W. Dewatshang along with Mr. Sonam Topgyal la as members. This was formed to look into the matter relating to the Chamber’s Magazine
 
Mr. Jigmey Tenzin la was also decided to be appointed as the Editor of the Magazine.
 
It was unanimously decided to hold a meeting with the Chamber’s Honorary Advisors in the month of October 2006.
 
June 22, 2006:
 
TCC office executives met Mrs. Jassi Kaur, authorized person at the India Trade Promotion Organization, to see the possibilities of participation in 26th India International Trade Fair which is being held in Delhi every year from 14th – 27th Nov. The detail outcome of the meeting was mailed to all the Governing Members.(click for the invitation)
 
THE IDEA: Since TCC is non profit making organization, the idea is of only exhibiting and displaying products and distributing pamphlets or information brochures.

The bank account number of the Chamber opened with the Standard Chartered bank at Delhi, India is:  526-0-507412-3
 
Now Members of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce can renew their membership for 2006-07 by signing cheque and draft payable to (W.S Tibetan Chamber of Commerce).
 
19th August:
 
A Governing Body Meeting was held at Dewatshang Sarangal Office, H-9, Jangpura Extention, New Delhi on the 19th of August 2006

Detail discussion was taken up on account of the current financial of the Chamber. (As per the mail dated 19th Aug from Mr. Tseten Norbu, Nepal, it was learnt that the Governing Body members in Nepal were in process of collecting the pending donations and membership fees at Nepal. Hon. Governing Members were decided to be requested to transfer the money to Chamber’s bank account once they were finished with the collections.
 
Discussion on the Seminar scheduled on 3rd and 4th September was held.
